Racking Seizing One type of Seizing utilising figure of eight type weaving between the two ropes. (1)

Racking Turn Seizing and lashing taken figure of eight fashion. (3)

Ratline Stuff Three stranded tarred hemp laid up right handed of 12, 15, 18, 21 or 24 threads. (2)

Reeve To pass the end of a rope through any aperture. (10)

Riding Turn(s) A second layer of turns, formed evenly and snugly though not so tightly that they force themselves into the first layer (10)

Rope General term used for cordage which has a diameter of more than 10 mm. (4)

Roundline  Small stuff made of three strands of hemp, generally tarred and laid up left handed. (2)

Round  Seizing Seizing made by simple turns around the two ropes. (1)

Round Turn  A complete turn (about one and a half times of line around an object,(9)

Rove  A rope passed through an aperture (block, fairlead etc) is said to be rove through. (4)
