Download and Installation

This is the real easy bit but, first of all the necessary disclaimer.

Copy and use this program at your peril.  If you become addicted to using it, or fill your computer with knot diagram files or if something else bad goes wrong with anything, anywhere, even if this little program was the direct couse of it, then it is all your fault.  I warned you not to download the file, so if you went ahead and did it, then do not blame me.

However, if you want to go ahead and download and use this little program, then here is how to go about doing it as simply as possible.

The utility is a little (at present only about 590kB) standalone program that has been used on Win 98, Win 2000 and Win XP.

It does not need to be installed.

It does not write anything into your computers registry or upset settings.

It does not require dll's or drivers which might conflict with other programs you have installed.

It is small enough to copy onto a memory stick and you can run it from the memory stick if you prefer to take the program around with you.

Step 1.     Click this download link   FCB42-b.exe

Step 2.     Select save to disk and then click the Save File button.

Step 3.     The utility will either be saved directly to where you have set your default download or you will be asked where to save it to.

Step 4.     Copy or move the program file FCBV42.exe to the final destination you wish to store it (on your memory pen if you wish).  You might find it convenient to make a folder called Knot Cyphers and put the program in there, along with any cypher files you create or receive.

Step 5.     Right click the file FCBV4-b.exe and select 'Create Shortcut'.  Windows will make a small shortcut icon next to the exe file.

Step 6.     Copy or move the shortcut file to the desktop (or wherever else you like to keep your shortcuts).

Step 7.     Double click the shortcut icon (or the program file itself FCBV42.exe) and enjoy.
